The Spiritual Life Is A Warfare
Ephesians 6:10-18
Put on the whole armor of God, that you may be able to stand against the wiles of the devil (Ephesians 6:11).
The other day, I sat with one of my younger friends in my church. We talked about the need for us to understand God’s nature in order to live in peace and enjoy our walk with Him.
We concluded our conversation on the note that God is not our problem. Satan and his agents are the ones we need to fight. It is the reason we engage in spiritual warfare so that we can win over every wiles of the enemy and enforce the Lordship of Jesus Christ in our life.
Paul understood all of these when he told us to put on the whole armor of God because we need them. He said, “Put on the whole armor of God, that you may be able to stand against the wiles of the devil” (vs.11). When we do this, we will stand.
It further shows that it is not God’s intention for us to fall. His intention is for us to win and stand. J. I Parker writes, “The Christian’s motto should not be ‘let go and let God’ but ‘Trust God and get going’”. We have never been told to quit and give up.
Let us use the resources given to us and stand. In the end, the Lord will reward us and give us the crown of righteousness presented to us by God the Father Himself. Shalom.
Your Turn
- Pray for the right focus.
- Pray that you will be alert to put on your armor at all times.
