Trust God Not The System
I Kings 17:1-16
And it happened after a while that the brook dried up, because there had been no rain in the land (I Kings 17:7).
While studying for this section of the devotional, I heard someone say, “Trust God and not the system” because God is our source. He determines the system He chooses to bless us. I agree with him.
In Joel Chapter 2, we understand that God is the One who restores not man. So when any man tries to position themselves as God in my life, I try to step away from them because I cannot afford to shift my focus from God, who is my source.
When God spoke to Elijah about the famine, He had planned the systems He would use to keep him alive. Following the declaration of the famine, God directed Elijah to the brook Cherith. A raven was used by God to bring food for him. But the brook dried up.
What next? God changed the system! He told him, “Son, it is time to move on. I have another system ready for you because I am committed to your welfare”. God sent him to a widow who fed him till the end of the famine. That is our God.
Friend, God is committed to our welfare. He wants to lead us. But we must keep Him as our source not man. Let Him be the only option not one of the options. It is my prayer that God will expand this word in your heart. Shalom.
