Pray For More Laborers
Mathew 9:35-38
Therefore pray the Lord of the harvest to send out laborers into His harvest (Mathew 9:38).
Following a busy schedule of ministry and travels, Jesus knew that there was more work to be done. He looked at the people and was moved with compassion to help. But He could not do it alone. Moreover, His time on earth was also limited. He had to go back to the Father.
What next? He told His disciples, “The harvest truly is plentiful, but the laborers are few. Therefore pray the Lord of the harvest to send out laborers into His harvest” (Matthew 9: 37-38). That is the answer. We need more laborers to work in the Lord’s vineyard so that the harvest will not be wasted. That would be a loss to the Master.
How do you feel when you see those who are not saved around you? Are you concerned about the plight of those who have not heard the gospel of Jesus Christ? How about the ones in our church whom we know are church goers but they have not become disciples yet? Are we concerned about the fact that 80% of the ministry work in our churches are done by 20% of the members? Where are the rest?
Friend, it is time for us to pray that the Lord will touch more people. We need more laborers. It is time for us to pray that we will become God’s laborers too. Think on these things. Shalom.
