Hindrances To Assurance (2)

2 Corinthians 10:3-6
For though we walk in the flesh, we do not war according to the flesh (2 Corinthians 10:3).

Today, we will look at more hindrances to assurance.

  1. Satanic attack: Many times we lose our confidence because we are being attacked by the enemy. Satan, the  father of liars, comes to us to cause us to doubt our   salvation and the promise of eternal life that God made  to us. Statements such as “Are you sure you are really  saved? Do you think God can forgive the sin you   committed in the year 2000? God cannot save someone  like you because your sins are too many or grievous? Friend, do not believe such words. It is the voice of the  accuser speaking to your mind. God loves you and He  delights in you.

Solution:  Arm yourself with God’s word. In it you will  find the truth you need to know about who you are and  the value God placed on you. Bring every negative thought  to the control of God’s word.

  1. Disobedience leads to loss of confidence and makes you vulnerable to doubt and fear. When you  fail to obey God’s word or specific instruction that He  has given you, you are walking on the edge of losing the  blessing of assurance you have.

Solution: Rely on God for the grace to obey Him and His word at all time. Lean on Him at all time. Shalom.

Your Turn

  • Praise God for this word of faith that has helped us to understand the ways of God.

Song: We are victorious, yes we are victorious.
