External Actions To Take
Jude 3-4; 2 Corinthians 10:1-6
Contend earnestly for the faith which was once for all delivered to the saints. For certain men have crept in unnoticed, who long ago were marked out for this condemnation (Jude 3-4).
Having looked at the inward actions we need to take to contend for the faith, we will move on to look at external actions. The first thing we need to know is that we are in a war. It is a contention and a battle that cannot be fought through the weapons of war. We need divine weapons to contend.
That is why the Bible says, “For the weapons of our warfare are not carnal but mighty in God for pulling down strongholds, casting down arguments and every high thing that exalts itself against the knowledge of God, bringing every thought into captivity to the obedience of Christ”(2 Corinthians 10:4-5).
It is a spiritual warfare against anti-God concepts, errors, speculations and ideologies that does not glorify God. This includes ideologies that do not match the faith that has been once and for all delivered unto us. They do not lift up the name of Jesus or the knowledge of Jesus. That is why Paul said we must cast them down.
It is an ideological and mental battle where we seek to confront error and wrong doctrines with the truth. As someone has said, “It is assaulting error”. Can we do this? Yes, we can. God has equipped us and continue to do so. We will not fail Him. Amen.
Your Turn
