Time To Pursue Holiness

Obadiah 14-18
But on Mount Zion will be deliverance; it will be holy, and Jacob will possess his inheritance (Obadiah 17, NIV).

Extending the prophetic word we shared yesterday, we need to know that in as much as the Lord wants us to do good works and bring glory to His Name, He wants us to do so with  a lifestyle that glorifies Him as well. This year, as we seek to do good works, we must also pursue holiness so that God will be pleased with us.

The Bible says, “But on Mount Zion will be deliverance;  it will be holy,   and Jacob will possess his inheritance”. (Obadiah 17, NIV). In another place the Scripture says, “Let your conduct be without covetousness; be content with such things as you have” (Hebrews 13: 5). When we match holiness with good conduct, our witness will be strong. We will be respected for who we are and for what we have to say.

This year, pursue holiness. Seek to keep your garment white. This would require absolute surrender to the Lord, His will and plan for our lives. It will require that we seek to live on the word and let God vindicate us whenever we are hurt or cheated. He is the God of vengeance.

Those who will possess their possessions must walk in holiness before the Lord. I trust that the Lord will remember us and do great wonders in and through us as we do our part. Shalom.

Your Turn

  • Father, I thank You for this reminder to pursue holiness. Help me to seek You as I should and live to  please You.
  • Pray for your family and nation.

Song: Forever, O Lord Your word is settled in heaven.
